In 2021, Brianna Perkins, the owner and face of LIT for BLACK KIDS, announced the launch of a fundraiser to obtain the first wave of funds necessary to build and equip a bookmobile that could bring the joy of literature to Roxbury, Dorchester, Mattapan, Hyde Park, and other neighborhoods in Boston.
