What is the LIT Consignment Program?
Consignment involves selling one's personal goods through a third-party vendor. The owner of the goods pays the third party a portion of the sale for facilitating the sale. Consignors maintain the rights to their property until the item is sold or abandoned.
The Lit for Black Kids Consignment Program has been created specifically for authors who wish to sell children’s literature that contains a black character as the protagonist.

Sellers can test out the purchasing audience with a low volume of books before committing to larger sales.
As a seller, you are also getting low-cost exposure to the Lit for Black Kids audience.
How does it work?
Complete the consignment application and pay the fee.
Ship a minimum of 5 books
for Lit for Black Kids to sell.
Collect a payment each month in which your books are sold.
How much does it cost and how much do I make?
There is a $20 handling fee per title.
Authors receive 60% of the cover price for each book sold.
